Telkom ADSL "broadband" sucks, in spite of their claims to the contrary. They disconnect me every 24 hours, even if I have tons of available bandwidth. When I get near my cap limit, I get disconnected every 6 hours, and then every hour!
Today I started downloading Ubuntu Linux Server, at around 12 noon. At 1.31pm Telkom in their infinite wisdom and generosity disconnected me, and then reconnected me again on the same IP number and exchange port. Thank you Telkom for cheating me out of 400MB, for which I paid R40. The disconnect caused the download to fail, and so now I have to start again.
Telkom ADSL may be better than Sentech's MyWireless, but that doesn't mean to say that it rises above the "pathetic" level. It's a ripoff of the kind that can only be perpetrated by government-controlled institutions.
